About Us

Marian and Awo are two mothers and career women who have been struck by the break in communication that occurs between parents and their children in the teenage years and the often devastating results that this can produce.

Lives are destroyed and precious kids who should have become responsible, reliable and dependable adults and possibly parents themselves, become a liability instead of an asset.

Marian, a pediatrician with numerous teens in her care, realized that her teens were very comfortable sharing with her information they could not share with their parents. She also realized that while mothers spend time nurturing their toddlers and younger children, their teenagers were basically left to grow on their own, making their own choices because
of the communication breakdown.

Awo, even while working abroad as an architect, realized that people were drawn to her and always sought her advice. She enjoys spending time with people, listening to their problems and offering advice where solicited. Currently working with children, Awo is always ready to offer a shoulder
for comfort, and is more than happy to brainstorm with her confidants
to find a solution or merely lend a listening ear.

After discovering that both had the welfare of others at heart, Marian and Awo came together to create an avenue to reach beyond those they come into contact with physically.

"Parents and Teens in Tune" is a website designed for parents and guardians to live in tune with their teens. Teenagers need and appreciate parental guidance and would want their parents to be their role models. Teenagers do listen to their parents, even when they act like they are not listening and want to live in harmony with their parents, despite occasional differences.

Marian lives with her husband and amazing twin sons both in college and a 13-year-old wonderful and funny teen daughter. Awo lives with her husband and awesome 8-year-old son. Both Marian and Awo can attest to the impact that having great parental guidance has had on their lives, and would love to share their experiences with modern parents with teens.

This website is for parents who want to help their teens achieve their highest potential in life while still maintaining a close and loving relationship.
